According to ossur.com, an amputee is “a person who has had all or part of a limb removed/amputated or is born without a limb”.  According to Princeston University, it is “someone who has had a limb removed by amputation”. So… as easy as it is, an amputee is someone with one or more limbs missing, it could be an arm, both arms, a leg or both legs (well that I guess will be the most basic understanding of what an amputee is).

A miracle on an amputee would therefore physically produce the regeneration of the missing limbs or body parts, as well as reconstructing all physiological elements that are involved in having a leg grow for instance. Ligaments, muscles, all those individual parts would therefore grow back and be put in place.

According to the US national statistic society,  “It is estimated that one out of every 200 people in the U.S. has had an amputation”. That of course doesn’t include those who were born with no limbs or body parts. If one out of 200 people have had amputation, that means therefore, on a national scale, you would have the sum total of the people living in the US, divided by 200 to find out roughly how many people are amputees (AGAIN this doesn’t include those who are born with infirmities). On the 2008 census, it was estimated that 304,154,000 people lived in the US… 304,154,000 / 200 = 1520770 amputees. Now a million of amputees??? that’s quite a lot… and with all the millions and millions of “healing crusades” that have been happening in the US, not a single amputee did ever show up nor was healed.

Now… one would wonder… “blind get sight… people with hearing loss, can hear… people with headache sundenly feel alright… people with cancer get healed” YET, I cannot find at all any single testimony of an amputee who grew flesh.

The question I then would obviously wonder, won’t God heal amputees? or can’t God heal amputees? of course this statement is framing on the belief that God does heal people.

If all the healing crusades are TRULY healing crusaded (meaning empowered by God), why won’t any amputee therefore show up? or let’s put it differently, why won’t the miracle workers invite amputees out of faith?

A friend of mine sent me a video link of a revival healing crusade going on in Florida, where it is said that the thousand got healed and each one with different deseaces, yet, after researching on the different crusades, they had… not a single amputee did show up…

So can anyone tell me why God doesn’t heal amputees, or let me rephrase it, Why God through those “SO EMPOWERED MEN OF GOD” doesn’t heal amputees?

Now, let me ask you a personal question, if you had to choose to pray for someone who has an headache, you would surely be praying for the headache to go away… for peace of mind to be restored, yet, if you were asked to pray for an amputee, what would you prayer be… “God, give peace to this man/woman and help him/her to do the best out of his/her life”? or would you dare praying “God I pray that you will make this limb grow back”?  What would you honnestly faithfully pray?

Now did God ever healed amputees? According to the narrative story in the gospels, Jesus did restore the missing piece of ear-flesh lost by one of the captive soldier while fighting with the disciples. So did God make flesh growth? looks like… but why won’t He be healing amputees during those crusades meetings?

Using a bit of logic and sticking to the biblical narratives, one would just come to the understanding that there are three pausible answers:

1- God doesn’t truly care about amputees

2- God can only heal everything else but just can’t heal amputees

3- Those healing crusades are just bubbling jokes that once again reflect the missleading concepts that have been shaping christians, doctrines, dogmas and christianity’s core for centuries

Which would you stand on? :-)

Ali, this is a very interesting observation. :) To answer your questions: when I pray for anyone with any kind of problem I always pray first for God’s will and then that God will show me what this will is and guide me through His Spirit in my prayers. I totally understand what you mean with this question - far too many Christians today have settled for less and not allowed their faith to expand and outgrow their scientific knowledge or convictions from previous experiences. If God leads me to pray for any issue I ought to pray with all the faith I have… otherwise I better not pray at all.
As for the last three options… I honestly think that the 3 point doesn’t quite relate to the other two… The options you’ve given simply lead to one choosing number 3. I personally believe that if God has healed one person in a crusade that already is a miracle. Numbers shouldn’t matter. I agree that there is also a lot of fame, pride and just talk behind certain public happenings of this type, but I would hesitate to put a label on all of them.

    Cheers!

    Petar,
I doubt you fully grasped the message this post was trying to bring.
I am not really adressing faith nor prayer. Yet slightly scratching the surface of those subjects, I am still not making it the prior objective of this post.

Let me try to put it in perspective…

Most of the crusades have one thing in common, which is “mass healing”. Whatever it is true or right… even both… still no amputee was ever healed. See the point of this post isn’t to say there are bad or good crusades, the point is, no matter if God was present or not, still “no amputee got healed”.

Now you might wonder, so what is your conclusion? actually none, I am just stating a fact and whoever reads, can make up his own.. my own deriviation from that is that, “mass healing” where we only hear about miracles, yet do not see, are a reflect of the dogmas and doctrines that ‘bubble” Christianity into a false corrupted stream of ideologies and believes.

As for your statement regarding the questions I ask. You need to put yourself in the framework through which those questions are asked. It is very simple as math

if no amputees are healed during those meetings, you would only get three probabilities

1- God doesn’t care about them - That means, God is present at those crusaded, yet decides to not heal an amputee (since in all history, no amputee was ever healed)
2- God just can’t heal amputees - That means, God is present there, does care about them (contrary of point 1) but just can’t heal amputees
3- God is just not acting through those crusades (contrary to point 1 and 2)

Simple as math, if you put yourself in the perspective that God does heal, then you would naturally end up on point 3 - why? because the first 2 points will be contrary to the very nature of God. If however, you do not believe God heals at all, then you won’t find a standpoint here, as those 3 points just don’t make sense. Remember it is all a matter of perspectives and everyone is entitled to it. I decide to believe that God does heal, and end up on point 3. As said, simple logical math.

As for what is the purpose of this post? exposing an extravagant example of the perveted doctrine of Christianity and dogmas. Remember what the purpose of this site is… Too Much Christianity - “Too Much”.

    peace,

    Ali

Why will god not heal amputee’s.
Because you would witness the miracle and believe in him because you knew its the only answer. People never learn by witness, more experience. The reason we are hear is to experience life on our own. The test is to find God on your own through sacrifice, trial and error. If I see someone get burned I will see them in pain. But if I get burned I will understand fully the consequence. He will not be questioned or tested. He will simply wait and gather the people that found him in their own way. To ask a question like “why wont God heal amputees’ shows how little one understands Gods plan. He doesn’t want you to see him if you are not ready to deal with it. Even if you throw a temper tantrum and demand he prove himself. You have to ask yourself not why has he not shown himself but why have I yet to find him? Have I really tried? Am I humble? Once you see him everything makes sense. But I cannot prove anything to you. He is smarter then that and his construct will not allow it.

  4. Simple Says:

Well first I do believe in God. ‘A creator”
And i totally agree with Ali on this one,
3- Those healing crusades are just bubbling jokes that once again reflect the misleading concepts that have been shaping christians, doctrines, dogmas and christianity’s core for centuries

If God were to heal amputee’s it would interfere with this construct that he has designed.
The whole point of this life is to fall down get back up and learn. right now all of us are being conditioned for something bigger. The key is to find it through experience, sacrifice and distance.
If God were to heal amputee’s then people would believe in him through witness instead of experience. They would not have to make that giant leap and go the distance to see him.
We left his side in the beginning, “which he knew one day we would’ Its in our nature. The beauty in it is to let us go, to realize that we just cant do it on our own.. Much like a runaway coming home. When our minds are conditioned and matured he will reveal the rest, but for now we are in the learning phase and he will not interfere with our path due to the fact that in the end when we have had our chance he can use this life here on earth to support his cause.

Ali people have been perverting pretty much everything we touch lol to include religion. Day in and day out I see people using ‘God’ to make there life simple, or place them on the high ground, when in fact Gods nature is the opposite. We are not here to relax, again this is the learning stage. Christians should never use God to take the high ground. Some people in this world that fall hard may one day be closer to God then any of us. It is not our right to push God or demand anything. If God will not force anything on us and allows us freedom of choice then no man should ever allow it. Anywhoo thanks for the post man. Its late and I am babbling, lol

    Hi there,
I have noticed that there is a big debate going on about why God does not heal amputees. I think the question should be are there any gods who can do that? Is there proof that some god helped an amputee grow back their limbs? By questioning God/Jesus/Holy Spirit on one issue, does that mean He is a fake and powerless? We will never understand every decision God makes while we are still in the flesh, but I know that God is Almighty and know that He is the power behind all true miracles! To be healed from Cancer, HIV, and many other illnesses shows me that the Christ can do what He wants on His time, not ours.
You cannot deny the fact that there are good and evil forces which cannot be seen, which team would you like to join? There are no spectators people, so do not fool yourself by thinking “nature” will take care of you! The biggest healing you can get is to get the Gift to enter Heaven and share in His joy and Love! For if you are not a believer in Christ who died for all of us on the Cross, you are dead!
So to make a long story short, its easy to ask questions which you know there are no real specific answer and so to try to confuse people about the Truth as well as yourself is not going to help you see all the positive things you can gain threw Jesus our Father in Heaven! Amen!
Jesus loves everyone, even if you are on the wrong path is He there for you, if you call His Name he will rescue you! I am sorry if this does not please you, but I am more concerned in pleasing our God of gods! Simple, I do agree with you, but want to lay focus on the “design” God has laid down! I believe there are also rules set forth in the spiritual realm by God.
Thx for giving me the opportunity to give my 2 cents.
