“God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God, Everyone has turned away, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.”

(Psalm 53:2-3)

I often asked myself that same and same again question! Why God created mankind?!… did he created mankind, the same as we sometimes wish to have pets, to help them grow, nourish them, have them reproduce and just be this little happy family?!

I think it is fair enough as Christians, followers of Christ, believers of one true God, to ask ourselves, to wonder about why God created us! I dunno all the reasons behind why someone would come to wonder about existential questions! But for me there is one reason!

And the reason is not much why God created us, but how he intended mankind to be?

The notion of “good”-”do good”, “be good” is a recurring overwhelming theme in the Old Testament! Indeed, God was training a people to be holy and good to themselves, to others so that mankind would live in peace on earth!

So obviously how did God intended mankind to be, he intended him to be “good”!

“For He saw his creation and all he has created and it was?…. gooood”

So… Creation is good! All you see around is Good, however perverted by Sin, evil making it not good!

Keeping this in mind, let’’s move on a shaky territory.. and let me ask you this question!? Did Christ come to establish a religion or show a way to be? A way to be good?

Would God has sent Christ to show the way, the way to be, how to be, if mankind was never perverted by evil!? If Creation would have remained “good”?

Being Christian or being Muslims! Does that really matters to God if both religion would have really understood and followed the teachings of the True God?

Islam does not teach forgiveness or we know God is a merciful God!

Christianity preaches forgiveness, however Christians do not forgive or we know God is a merciful God!

So tell me what is the difference between Muslims and Christians? Obviously none – so who follows God? Obviously none?

See does it matter to God, that you baptize, that you read his word, that you confess, profess, pray the name of Christ? If you do not do “good”?

Christ said “I am the way, the truth…”… Yes! This is true! For his teachings “his way”, “his life” is the way to eternal life!!!

Did Christ came to show something else than how to live a good life? Did Christ invented Christianity?

Whatever you do, whatever you are… be good!

For “God looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand any who seek God, Everyone has turned away, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.”

God looks down friend and looks at you! Do you do “good”?

If you do Good, you have prayed God

If you do Good, you have loved God

If you do Good, you have loved others

If you do Good, you have loved yourself!

Think about it! Does God care about the worship nights, the music, the offerings, your prayers if what he intended Christ to show you by his death is not reflected in your life! God has mercy on you and we know he wants to have that personal relationship with us! But legalism has perverted this concept of “personal relationship”! We think, as long as I spend time alone with God, as long as I am “good” with him, then everything else is alright! But think about it…. what is to be in relationship with God? Through loving people!

Now just take a sec….

Think about it! If Christianity is the clothe of salvation, then why does the world closes their eyes on such truth, if Christianity is the truth!

Because love is the truth! And Christianity has failed to carry it!

So Muslim, Christians. Buddhists… the Lord looks down, does he find you “good”?

Very deep reflections, Ali! This Article has given me a different point of view about theese two verses. Now I can also read the entire Psalm with a different mindset. What I want to say is that I agree with the concept that Christianity has failed to carry love towards humankind. Moreover, I appreciated a lot the fact that you have linked togheter the question why God created mankind with the question who does good. Namely, here in Italy quite all of the Preachers teach that humankind was created to be the Servant, the Slave of God. This view reflects a very narrow and short-sighted vision of the relationship between God and Mankind. This is just an example to say that you are right when tou say in your FAQs that the biggest problem of the church today is that christians have stopped thinking and reflecting. Your Article shows clearly how inadequate is the system of belief of the Christian Fundamentalists. I also noticed that you are keen to express yourself by means of the powerful instrument of the Questions. On my opinion, you are doing good >>> Jesus used widely Questions, while Christians today have stopped making Questions, because they prefer Answers, rather than Questions.

I think that one of the troubles of the church, is that the emphasis has been taken off of individual releationships, with Christ, and put on the organization… the building… and serving the org.. instead of the org. serving you…. and I think instead of cursing the darkness. we should light a candle….
Much good has come out of org. religion… however, I don’t believe that we have scratced the surface… of what could be done.. if a fire was lit under each member… they have become complacent…and the thought exists… let the church do it… the org… or someone else… just not me….also, the power that exists in the thoughts that only org. religion.. is real… kills what Jesus would be often times trying to do in indivduals…. everybody thinks it has to be done… like so and so… or it has no merit… it takes a strong individual to stand up against it….

    Hello Gayla!

Thank you for your comment! You have raised an important point! Nevertheless to that point, I think it is important to what the church/the org. has been lacking the most is criticism.

Criticism is often seen in church as an alienation… however criticism in its depth is a form of love! you criticise for the sake of encouraging, rebuking and changing!

who can love God if he/she does not wonder on how to love God!

I think the breach we have crossed is that we have stopped thinking in the church! we are content! if no one wants to speak but yet do with the actions! then none will change!

I agree…and way too much empathis is put on the power structure…. the individial has no place.. unless he/she is a carbon copy of the one in the pulpit… Jesus was a rugged individial, a one of a kind…. yet.. the church today.. is putting out look alikes… you can tell who sat under who… by listening to them and watching their actions… I think Jesus is looking for a voice.. not an echo….
if one truly follows his doctrine he is thought to be radical… well so was John the Baptist… and Elijah… and all the other radicals of the day…. I think Jesus expects far more than we are putting out… we are thought to be wimpy.. when all the power of the universe is at our disposal… we follow what is right in our own eyes… and forget what his counsel was…. when we make decisions… too many times it is to follow the status quo….individual iniative is frowned upon…. you have to be part of the group…. and follow what they have laid out… forget about following the Holy Spirit… you just have to follow the crowd…..I think that Jesus wants the walls to come down…. that have been erected… we have yet to become one… as he prayed…. too much big I and little u……no fear of the Lord… and in the world.. very little reverence…. But, I think God is stirring… I feel the wind blowing… and the tide rising.. a storm is on the horizon…… change is coming…. suddenly…. a mighty rushing wind…. fills the house…. and awe fills the crowd… a holy hush… decends…..and the Ancient of Ages…. fills the room…..

Hi to every one, reading the article by Ali, I realized that we need to have a more deep understanding of the Word of God , God intend us to be good?… this is good.!
But some time I wonder and say can I be good than God???
Christ has come to show a way of life and a way to life!
To every one, this make the difference in this life, and the only way to the One and living God is Jesus, He is Good ,we are???
I wont to be his follower and be good, but even a Muslim would say the same thing for his Prophet, then where is the difference between a Christian and a Muslim??if both they try to be good for their faith??
Be Good and we gain Heaven…..Muslim, Christian or Buddhist.
Do you think that this is Good………
If this is so, then Why Jesus came on earth? I wonder..
Lots religions, they do Good in this earth, then they are Accetable by God, Because they are doing good??
well it is true that Christianity has failed, the target, but do not forget, That Jesus is really building a true Christianty!!!
according to His Word, and manifest the work of God, and not deeds, but works in the love of the true and living God.see 1 Corinthians ch 13.3
“And though i Bestow all my good to feed the poor and though i give my body to be burned, but i have not love, it profits me nothing.”
    God Speaks by His Word!!!
Love is Jesus, If I do not have Jesus in my life am nothing..
Lets think about it .God bless
